Portable Bags Chieftaincy Title From His Home State

Controversial Afrobeats musician Portable was named the Amuludun of Tigbo Awori Land after receiving a chieftaincy title in his home state.

The controversial street rapper shared videos from his coronation on August 22, as the Amuludun of Tigbo Awori, a kingdom in the Yewa local government area of Ogun State.

In the video, the monarch of the Kingdom presented Portable with his new title and named him the chief purveyor of happiness in the Tigbo Awori Land.

Additionally, Portable shared a video of his coronation, which featured Chief Obesere, the famed fuji icon, on whose head the singer of “Zazzu Zeh” showered freshly minted 500 naira notes.

Portable’s recent legal issues, which resulted in his disqualification from the 2022 Headies, haven’t stopped his local community from recognizing and honouring his success.

Portable now has the fancy title of Tigbo Awori Chief, which allows him to display himself in chieftaincy regalia while enjoying the respect that comes with his new position.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
