Dear Lord, I worship and praise you.
I come to you today with thanks for what I do have, and thanks for what I do not have. It is so easy in the world we live in to get caught up with what others have that I do not. Help me to keep in my mind that just because you are blessing someone else that doesn’t take away from my blessings. I want to be happy for them and how you have blessed them. No matter, I know the enemy can never take your blessings away.
The enemy wants us to live in a world of comparisons, so we stay distracted. Social media can be a wonderful tool to share the gospel, but the enemy frequently uses it to keep us distracted with envy and jealousy. I want to remember that what I see on social media is not always how it seems, but more of a highlight reel. I know that some appear happy, but behind closed doors are falling apart. Help me to not compare my life with the lives of others.
I want to be content with what I have. I can do all things through Christ who gives him strength.
I know that as long as I have you, I can be content in every circumstance. We can give praise through the storms, rejoice through the struggle, and know that no matter what we are going through we still have you. Because as long as we have you, we have all that we need. Lend me your strength during times that the enemy tries to attack my not and peace.
For during those times I am under attack, I know that you have blessed me with everything I need. Because of this, I will do better at distinguishing between having what I need and not having what I want. Comparison is a thief of joy, and I will not allow it to steal mine. I will be content with whatever I have as long as I have You.
