Qatar Airways is reportedly finalising a significant purchase agreement with Boeing for approximately 100 widebody aircraft, with an option to acquire up to 100 more, according to a Bloomberg News report citing people familiar with the matter.
The deal is expected to be unveiled during US President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to the Middle East, which includes stops in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. The trip is anticipated to spotlight major investments in the aerospace and defence sectors, aligning with the White House’s push for increased US exports.
Neither Qatar Airways nor Boeing has commented publicly on the potential agreement.
This development follows a recent exclusive by Reuters revealing that President Trump was preparing to offer Saudi Arabia an arms deal exceeding $100 billion. Bloomberg further reports that several prominent Middle Eastern airlines are racing to conclude high-value contracts ahead of the presidential visit.
Qatar Airways is reportedly putting the “final touches” on the Boeing order, leveraging a strong global travel market and its strategic hub in Doha to expand its international reach.
