In a recent interview on Channel TV, reality TV star Doyin Davids shared her perspective on dating, explicitly stating her reason to not dating someone who lives on the mainland.
According to her, she’s “not about that broke life” and insisted that whoever she dates must be willing to relocate to the island where she resides. Doyin emphasized her unfamiliarity with mainland life and pointed out that her work and daily activities primarily take place on the island.
When questioned about her reluctance to move to the mainland, she clarified that if a man desires a partner accustomed to mainland living, he should seek someone from that region rather than compelling an island resident to make the move. Doyin also went on to boldly state that the only viable option for her would be if a man willingly relocated to the island.
The public response to Doyin’s opinion has been mixed, with some suggesting that she might not be ready for love and relationships if she’s unwilling to compromise on her geographical preference.
Personally, I think finding the ideal partner is not the focus of love; rather, it is about accepting the imperfections of others. Compromise is essential for a lasting and fulfilling relationship. If you’re too picky, it means you expect perfection out of relationships and aren’t willing to put that work in.
