Ronaldo Accepts FA’s Charges Against Him

Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has accepted FA’s charge despite his boss Erik ten Hag stating that he would contest it.

Following United’s defeat at Everton in April, the Portuguese striker was charged last month with a breach of FA Rule E3 relating to improper and/or aggressive behaviour after slapping a mobile phone out of the hand of a teenage supporter.

The 37-year-old was given till Monday to respond to the charge, and Ten Hag said: “We spoke about that. He will not accept it.”

According to United sources, Ronaldo has accepted the accusation, having already publicly apologized for his actions, and has been issued a caution by Merseyside Police over the incident after being investigated over claims of assault and criminal damage.

The 14-year-old boy, Jake Harding, attempted to film Ronaldo as he limped off the pitch at Goodison Park. According to his mother, Sarah Kelly, the Portugal star slammed the phone out of the boy’s grip, leaving him with an injured hand.

Meanwhile, United wants to support Ronaldo by providing context and mitigations with the aim of avoiding a multi-game suspension.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
