Acts 20:17-27
Psalm 67(68):10-11, 20-21
John 17:1-11

DO NOT FALTER IN YOUR FAITH AND PRAYERS

Today’s readings invite us to prepare for a future filled with prayer and reflection as we await the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. In the upcoming moments, we will immerse ourselves in Jesus’s prayers and teachings found in John’s gospel of today, where we will witness the early Christian community skillfully blending tradition, lived experiences, and theological insights into a profound act of communal discernment and writing in the Acts of the Apostles.

Like the first reading, we see St. Paul prayerfully bear witness to Christ through his letter to the Church in Ephesus. His words remind us of the ‘memory’ of Jesus as a vibrant ‘memorial’—an alive and living memory—as he prays for the Church’s future. These prayers will inspire hope, faith, life, and a creed that we can carry forward.

As we look ahead, we too can celebrate God’s gracious actions in our world, the promise of eternal life, and our ability to know God through Jesus’s intercession. We anticipate joyous moments discovering that we are forever cherished by God.

Finally., as we reflect on the martyrs of Uganda—St. Charles and his companions—who powerfully witnessed Christ by laying down their lives. We look forward to embracing our roles as God’s emissaries in the world. Together, let us prepare to take up our work and bring to fruition the mission we share in Christ.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
