Sean “Diddy” Combs, a well-known musician, was arrested in Manhattan on September 16, 2024, after a federal grand jury indicted him on accusations of s*x trafficking.
In a statement, Southern District of New York attorney; Damian Williams stated that his office’s sealed indictment was the reason behind the arrest. Without going into additional detail about the accusations, he stated, “We expect to move to unseal the indictment in the morning and will have more to say at that time.”
Diddy’s lawyer Marc Agnifilo stated in a statement released that Combs had willingly gone to New York anticipating the charges.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe to be an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the US Attorney’s Office,” stated Combs’s legal team.
The rapper is the subject of multiple civil lawsuits alleging that he was a violent s*xual predator who coerced his victims using drugs and drink. Federal officials raided Combs’ houses in March as part of a widely reported bicoastal operation, indicating that Combs was the subject of an ongoing federal investigation and possible criminal case.
Armed agents stormed into his enormous Miami and Los Angeles luxury mansions, bringing an abrupt end to the strong music business figure who had been vying to reinvent himself as “Brother Love.”
R&B singer Cassie Ventura, his ex-girlfriend, started it all with a lawsuit in November 2023. Shortly after the case was filed, Ventura accused Combs of both physical and s*xual assault, which resulted in a confidential settlement.
Several other people have since come forward with similar accusations. On Monday, Combs’s legal team stated that he was “cooperative with this investigation” and that he “looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
The artist has denied all accusations against him.
Gentle Reminder: Be careful how you use your authority and influence, be wise, and treat others with respect.
“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
