A brawl broke out on Sunday morning in front of a wedding guest in Torrejon de Ardoz, which is around 25 kilometers (16 miles) northeast of Madrid. Following the argument, a vehicle struck the wedding guests and then drove off leaving four people dead and four others critically injured, according to authorities.

According to a national police official who spoke to AFP, authorities have detained three people and are looking for a fourth in connection with the fatal event.

“When we arrived on the scene, we found four people had died of multiple fractures,” said Carlos Polo, head of Madrid emergency services.

According to him, four more injured people have been taken to a hospital for treatment.

A 70-year-old woman and three males aged 40, 60, and 17 died from fractures and multiple injuries. Those injured include two middle-aged men with leg and pelvic fractures and two women with head injuries.

Two others suffered “potentially serious injuries”, according to the emergency services, and two other minor injuries.

According to authorities, the suspect vehicle and its three passengers were reportedly stopped and apprehended 50 kilometers away from the scene of the collision.

The driver of the vehicle who allegedly caused the deaths, aged 35, has been arrested by the Civil Guard in Seseña.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
