Tears As Family Buries Slain BRT Passenger

The body of Bamise Ayanwola, who was found dead in February after riding a Bus Rapid Transport (BRT), has been buried.

She was buried at Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos on Friday.

Ayanwola went missing after taking a bus in her Chevron district of Lekki on the way to Oshodi. Her body was found a few days later.

BRT driver Andrew Ominnikoron faces conspiracy, rape and murder charges in Ayanwola’s death. When the bus driver realized that Oluwabamise refused to take other passengers on the road, he allegedly took the victim to his destination in Oshodi.

She reportedly contacted Felicia Omolara, one of her colleagues at work, told her of her suspicions, and was advised to get off the bus.

But Omolara said when her friend stopped responding to her chats on WhatsApp, she called her phone number and when she answered her phone, the man was arguing with Miss Oluwabamise.
The deceased 22-year-old was reportedly found with some body parts missing.

Meanwhile, the suspect later claimed he had nothing to do with the fashion designer’s death, but was only following orders from her captors who were holding him and Bamise hostage on the bus.

May her gentle soul continue to rest in the bossom of the lord.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
