Tragedy at UNIZIK: Student Dies After Jumping from Three-Storey Building

A devastating incident occurred near Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka, Anambra State, on Thursday evening. A male student jumped from a three-storey building at a lodge close to the university gate and died shortly after.

Details of the Incident

The incident happened around 8:00 p.m. near Royal Kitchen Junction. Witnesses believe the student was under the influence of hard drugs at the time. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead.

The student’s identity hasn’t been disclosed yet, and the family hasn’t been notified. The university’s spokesperson, Mr. Louis Okwudili Njelita, stated that the information hadn’t reached his desk yet.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the university community. Neighbors reported hearing a loud noise before finding the victim’s body in a pool of blood. The student’s roommate was found incoherent and suspected to be under the influence of the same substance.
