45-Year-Old Man On Hard Drugs Jumps Into River And Drowns

A 45-year-old man only known as Kazeem drowned in a river at Odo Tente, a village that marks the border between the states of Lagos and Ogun.

The deceased had taken a strong drug, maybe Colorado, at around 11 a.m. on Friday when the tragedy happened.

It was learned that Kazeem began acting strangely when under the effect of the medication, running wildly before diving into the river.

In a statement on Sunday, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, acknowledged the event.

“On 11/10/2024 at about 11 am, a complainant reported at the Alagbado Division that one Kazeem, ‘M’, 45-year-old, under the influence of a hard drug suspected to be Colorado, ran uncontrollably and jumped into a river at the Odo Tente, the boundary between Lagos and Ogun states. Sequel to this, the victim drowned and died,” the statement read.

In addition, the PPRO said that Alagbado Division detectives came to the scene and took pictures of the dead.

The deceased’s father, according to Hundeyin, gave the order to have the body buried by the riverbed right away in accordance with their custom after being contacted.

Nevertheless, Hundeyin pointed out that the police were looking into the event.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
