All Souls Day

ETERNAL REST GRANT TO THEM O LORD.

Today being All Souls’ Day, we commemorate the faithful departed especially those who are in purgatory that the light of Christ will purify them and bring their souls to heaven. Today, we remind ourselves of what Christian hope is. The Christian hope is trusting in an unknown future to a known God. It is hope that whispers and say try one more time even when the whole world is up against you telling you to give up. Where there is hope there is faith and where there is faith love is manifested . Has long as we have God, we have hope. The Book of Wisdom tells us that,
“But the souls of the just are in the hand of God and no torment of death will touch them” Wisdom 3:1.Therefore, if we truly believe in our relationship and friendship with God and the undying love of God in our lives then we must realize that God will not abandon us to the pit of death but keep us safe in his hands always.

Often times, we spend far more time worrying about our physical body than we do about our soul even though the soul is far more important and it is the immortal part of us. Do you experience excessive worries and fears in your life? Could it be that you do not trust God enough? Let’s thank God for reminding us once more of His loving care. God wants the best for us

Today, light up a candle and pray for the souls in purgatory and our dearly beloved ones who have departed from this life, and may the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God Rest In Peace. Amen.
