Andre Onana Shocked By Wage Cut After Man Utd Fail To Qualify For The Champions League

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana was reportedly stunned by a reduction in his salary this season following the club’s failure to secure a spot in the Champions League.

The 29-year-old Cameroonian goalkeeper has experienced a challenging season that hit a new low last week. He was benched for a match, with Altay Bayindir taking his place, ahead of their 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.

Yesterday, he was seen arriving at training with his agent, who may be exploring options to facilitate a departure from the club, with rumors indicating a potential transfer to the Saudi League.

It has now been revealed that Onana was taken aback by the wage cut after United only managed to qualify for the Europa League last season.

According to The Athletic, Onana’s lowered salary surprised him and even prompted him to discuss the matter with Dan Ashworth, the now-former sporting director. His dissatisfaction with his reduced pay, combined with being sidelined from the first team, suggests a summer transfer may be imminent.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano addressed the situation on his YouTube channel, highlighting the Saudi League as a potential lifeline.

“For Onana in general, the situation can be one to watch in the summer transfer window because I told you in January that Onana signed with a new agent. The agent is Fali Ramadani, Lian Sports, so he decided to trust Ramadani to take care of his future in January.

“There is interest from the Saudi Pro League since he was at Inter, but he preferred a move to Man Utd. He had this…”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
