BBNaija’s Mike Edwards Wins Debut Boxing Match

Former BBNaija housemate Mike Edwards has prevailed in his first-ever professional boxing battle.

The Misfits Boxing Cruiserweight division was contested by the reality TV sensation, who emerged victorious against John Cornish.

The professional boxer Olajide Williams, who is of Nigerian descent, organized the boxing match, which took place on Saturday at Dublin Arena.

The judges made a unanimous judgment to award Edwards the victory.

In a message on their social media accounts, Misfits Boxing called his victory “impressive.”

“An impressive MFB debut for #aireyys as he gets the decision victory. Mike Edwards gets his first #MisfitsBoxing win,” the post reads.

The reality TV star, who is known as a high jump champion, announced his venture into professional boxing in April.

“Breaking News: Excited to announce my entry into the world of professional boxing! Thrilled to join the Cruiserweight division roster on #MisfitsBoxing,” he wrote.

“Get ready for an electrifying debut as I step into the ring to showcase my skills and determination.”

Edwards came into the limelight after he was named the runner-up of the 2019 edition of BBnaija.

He is also the CEO of Aireyys, a lifestyle brand centred around fashion and cigars.
