Community, Grandmother In Tears As Daughter Stabs Her Two Children And Attempts Suicide

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Murang’a, Kenya, have launched a manhunt for a killer woman, a mother, who is accused of stabbing her two children at Kianjogo village in Kahuro on Sunday afternoon, January 9, killing one of them instantly.

Nancy Munjiro, a 21-year-old single mother of two boys, ages 4 and 2, turned the knife on her children at their grandmother’s house, spilling their intestines before attempting suicide, which stunned the community.

Ms. Lucy Muthoni Kimani, the area assistant chief, told detectives that Munjiro, a house help in Kahuro’s Kiriaini area, had visited her mother (who lives with the two children) over the holiday season and had yet to return to work for unknown reasons.

What the grandmother of the children had hoped would be a cherished bonding moment between mother and children as she stepped out of her house in the morning turned out to be the darkest day of her life.

She returned home to find her house turned into a murder scene, her grandchildren drenched in blood and sprawled on the floor.

Unfortunately, the two-year-old had died, but the older boy had a faint pulse. He was rushed to Muriranjas hospital and then transferred to Murang’a County hospital in critical condition.

Police who arrived at the scene discovered a rope dangling from the roof, leading them to believe that the perpetrator attempted to commit suicide before she changed her mind and decided to run away.

This is so sad!
