Couple Sells Their Eight-Month-Old Child To Buy An iPhone 14

A couple allegedly did the unthinkable and sold their eight-month-old child to buy an iPhone, according to police in India’s North 24 Parganas region of West Bengal.

The “Indian Express” said that the parents, Jaydev and Sathi Ghosh, just wanted the iPhone 14 so they could make Instagram reels.

A senior police official claimed that although the child had been missing for a few days, his parents had not filed a missing person’s report. He was eventually found with Priyanka Ghosh, who lives nearby.

“It was the residents who got suspicious after they found the couple having a brand new iPhone and reported the matter to the police,” reported the media outlet.

The authorities claim that they have detained both the mother and the woman who is accused of having purchased the baby boy, thus things did not turn out as the two reportedly intended.

But they are still looking for the mysterious father, who is rumored to be still running.

Things did not go as the duo had supposedly intended, as the authorities said they have arrested the mother, along with the woman who allegedly bought the infant boy.

However, they are still on the hunt for the elusive father who is said to be still on the run.

“After interrogation, the mother admitted to the crime and informed that she and her husband wanted to use the money to take trips across the state so that they could create content for Instagram reels,” the police were quoted as saying.

Additionally, the suspected baby dealers attempted to exchange money for their other child, a seven-year-old girl.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
