Elon Musk To Unveil Grok 3; Termed The “Smartest AI On Earth”

Elon Musk has announced that his artificial intelligence business, xAI, will launch Grok 3, its next chatbot, on Monday, February 17. Musk marketed the latest model as the “smartest AI on Earth” in a field that is becoming more competitive.

Musk’s flagship AI product will make its debut with a demonstration at 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time (0400 GMT), according to a post on his social media site, X. He explained that Grok 3 was trained on synthetic data and is intended to enhance its reasoning by reflecting on previous mistakes and examining data for logical consistency.

“Will be honing product with the team all weekend, so offline until then,” Musk posted on Twitter. The billionaire entrepreneur, who also works as a major adviser to former US President Donald Trump on government expenditure cuts, has been pushing for a greater presence in the AI industry.

Musk had indicated that Grok 3 was in the final stages of development and will be available within weeks. As artificial intelligence becomes more prevalent in daily life, xAI hopes to carve out a position in a market dominated by established players such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

The AI business has become more competitive, especially after Chinese startup DeepSeek unveiled a low-cost, high-quality chatbot last month, threatening the United States’ dominance in AI technology. DeepSeek soon eclipsed ChatGPT in Apple’s App Store downloads, prompting concerns about the field’s global leadership change.

Despite warnings about AI’s potential dangers to mankind, Elon Musk has aggressively sought investment in the field. xAI stated in December that it had obtained $6 billion in funding from investors including venture capitalists in the United States, chipmakers Nvidia and AMD, as well as Saudi and Qatar investment groups. Following an initial $6 billion investment round in May, xAI became one of the world’s most valuable businesses, albeit smaller than OpenAI.

Elon Musk launched xAI in July 2023, shortly after signing an open letter calling for a pause in the development of sophisticated AI models. Meanwhile, OpenAI’s board chairman announced on Friday, February 14, that the business has rejected Musk’s bid to acquire it for $97.4 billion.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.

Today's Quote

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
