Fears Of A New Pandemic Arises As New Unknown Virus Kills Two Leaves Several Hospitalized

Two people have passed away In Argentina, due to unidentified pneumonia, while several have been hospitalized as there are worries of a new viral outbreak.

The health authorities in the South American country claimed that the patients had “pneumonia of unknown origin.”

According to Mail Online, Eight medical personnel and one patient are involved in the instances and are in the intensive care unit at a private hospital in Tucumán, Buenos Aires,

The virus has been ruled out to be Covid, influenza, or hantavirus, which has officials worried.

It occurs two and half years after Wuhan, China’s reports of strange pneumonia, which started to circulate in December 2019 and was later revealed as Covid.

The first six patients began displaying symptoms between August 18 and August 22.

Two of the most recent three instances are being treated in the hospital, while one is being watched at home.

“What these patients have in common is the severe respiratory condition with bilateral pneumonia and compromise in [X-ray] images very similar to Covid, but that is ruled out,” said Luis Medina Ruiz, Tucumán’s minister of health, to local media.

According to him, the patients went through testing for more than 30 different pathogens, including the common cold and influenza types A and B, all of which came back negative.

The National Administration of Health Laboratories and Institutes of Argentina has received samples for further analysis.

The patients’ contacts are being tracked down and quarantined, and the hospital has been sealed.
