REFLECTION

Be careful what you wish for, you may just get it is a famous idiom that we all know. Jephthah vowed to the Lord that anyone who will meet him first from his return from battle he will sacrifice. Lo and behold, it was his daughter that came out. Although, he felt sad but he took the vow seriously. In the gospel, we see the generosity of a king who invited people to his banquet starting from those he first invited and others. We also see attitudes of those who did not take the host seriously. Do you take your vows seriously? How dedicated are you to your vocation?

God has invited everyone to his banquet. We are precious in his sight. a shepherd would not lose one sheep, nor a jeweller one diamond, nor a mother one child, nor a man one limb of his body, nor will the Lord lose one of his redeemed people.

Many around us are not always responsive to God’s invitation to come to the table of plenty, and those who we think should be the first invited, are refusing to come to the feast. But God will not be thwarted in giving a generous invitation. All are called, but not all chose to come and many take it for granted. This is not God’s choice; it is our choice.
However little we might be, if we are the Lord’s, we may rejoice that we are preserved in Jesus Christ.

Stay safe and God bless

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
