Get Lifted With The Light Of Christ

Tuesday of week 10 in Ordinary Time

2 Corinthians 1:18-22
Psalm 118(119):129-133,135
Matthew 5:13-16

God invites us to respond with a heartfelt “Yes.” He continually affirms and justifies through Jesus Christ our Savior. In the first reading from 2 Corinthians (1:18-22), Paul reminds us that the fulfillment of all our prayers and God’s promises is found in Christ. God reassures us of this truth and has sent us the Holy Spirit, who dwells within us always.

In our Gospel reading (Matthew 5:13-16), Christ proclaims that we are the light of the world. Our world longs for this true light to guide it from conflict and the shadows of sin into the radiant glory of the Father. We embody that light, yet if we fail to let our light shine, the world may remain in darkness.

Today, we are called to echo the “Yes” that Christ so graciously offered. Our genuine care for others—our sincere hospitality—serves as a profound way to glorify God and affirm our commitment to Him. Even a simple prayer or a humble attitude offered to God shines brightly as a gift of praise as expressed by the Blessed Virgin Mary in her canticle.

Through our concern for others, we have the power to bless them with the love of God. How can you nurture the inherent goodness in a brother or sister and illuminate their treasured identity as a child of God? May the Lord grant us the grace to reflect His light and truth in all that we do and say. Amen.

Wishing you a blessed Tuesday filled with light and joy!
