Gov Soludo Cancels Collection Of Tax From Wheelbarrow Pushers, Vulcanizer, Others In Anambra State

Wheelbarrow pushers, vulcanizers, hawkers, and other people who work in low-paying jobs in the Anambra State no longer have to pay any taxes, according to Governor Charles Soludo.

The governor made the announcement while speaking to residents of the state at the Government House Awka during the second phase of open bidding for revenue concessions.

According to Gov Soludo, poor people in the society should feel empowered and not be harassed, threatening that and market union which disobeys his orders will be immediately dissolved.

He said, “Wheelbarrow pushers must not pay any fee in the state. Vulcanizers operating along the road should also cease paying any fee to anyone. Hawkers shouldn’t pay any fees. These poor people should stop being harassed.

“This message is for the Market unions. If they are found with any evidence, that union will be dissolved with immediate effect. We want to build a society where the poor feel empowered and where the rich can get more resources to create wealth and employment.”

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
