The value found in being a good listener is undeniable
Eddie: I said you look good but for health reasons, if you want to lose a few pounds, it’s not a bad idea but I love you just the way you are “Omayra: are you calling me fat?? Eddie: Nooo, you need to listen when we talk to avoid this misunderstanding. Try to listen to me, I said I love you the way you are but if you choose to lose a few pounds for health reasons, that’s okay but whichever way, I love you just the way you are. Do you get it now? Omayra: Yes, I do. Thanks
According to Oxford Living Dictionaries, to listen is to give attention to sound or action. When listening, one is hearing what others are saying, and trying to understand what it means. The act of listening involves complex affective, cognitive, and behavioral processes.
There is so much wisdom in listening as there is in speaking and that goes for all relationships. Listening is an attitude of the heart, a genuine desire to be with another which both attracts and heals.
The value found in being a good listener is undeniable
Listening is often the only thing needed to help someone who wants you to give him or her a listening ear. The basic needs of all humans are to understand and to be understood.
Listening and speaking are the basic communication tools we use in our day-to-day activities. We use them to process language as we interact with the people in our lives. When we make use of these tools, they help us create wonderful, growing, and lasting relationships.
However, when used inappropriately, those very tools of listening and speaking can create a lot of hurt, damage, and even destruction to relationships.
The value found in being a good listener is undeniable. My question is? How will you feel if someone in your life starts listening to you a little more? I’m pretty sure you will be very happy. So you should try and make positive deposits in your life every day by reading and listening to powerful, positive, life-changing content and by associating with encouraging and hope-building people who can help.
A lot of misunderstandings can be resolved through active listening to our friends, family, and loved ones. Feel free to ask questions when you do not understand a spoken word than making assumptions that could be destructive.
Happy Sunday my people.
Thank you.🤗❤️
