Motherhood: Essential Strategies For Raising A Strong And Confident Daughter (5)

Hello Great Mothers!

Our children are special gifts from God, each endowed with unique abilities meant to positively impact society. However, the environment has often limited the potential of the female gender, labeling them as “weaker vessels.” In many cultures and professions, particularly in Africa, girls are not always given the same opportunities to strive and excel as their male counterparts.

Even when a woman tries to break barriers and succeed in her chosen field—whether in business or a profession—she may face resistance not only from men but sometimes even from other women. In such circumstances, it takes a determined and courageous woman to rise above these restrictions and achieve success.

This is why raising our daughters to be bold and confident is crucial. We have already discussed several ways to nurture these qualities, and we will continue to explore more in this article.

Let Her Know You Believe in Her:
Your daughter needs to know you believe in her, even if she isn’t excelling academically at the moment.

She may not be meeting your expectations in terms of intelligence or speaking out as confidently as you’d like, but your unwavering belief in her potential can make a world of difference.

When your daughter feels that you trust in her abilities, even when she’s struggling, it provides her with the encouragement and motivation to keep pushing forward.

Your faith in her acts as a powerful source of confidence, helping her face challenges and grow into her strengths. On the contrary, if she senses that you don’t believe in her, especially during times when she’s falling short of expectations, it can erode her self-esteem.

Coupled with the limitations that society may place on her due to her gender, this lack of support could cause her to lose faith in her abilities.

Therefore, it’s crucial to consistently reinforce your belief in her, reassuring her that you recognize her potential and that you’re there to support her through her journey of growth and self-discovery. This will inspire her to break barriers, take on challenges, and develop into a confident, successful individual.

Have you ever faced rejection due to failure? How did it make you feel, and how did you overcome it? Kindly share.

Women are strong, not weak. God has given us the power to birth and nurture world leaders and to become whoever we aspire to be.”

Bye!
