Motherhood: Impatience In Parenting And Its Impacts On Mothers And Children’s Growth 3

Hello Great Mothers!

As mothers, we are our children’s role models. The question is: “Are we aware of this fact?” Are we aware that they look up to us and take note of our weaknesses and strengths? They see and learn from us, how we react to issues, either pleasant or unpleasant ones. They see and learn from us, how we react to them when they disobey or annoy us. They see and learn from us, how we react when stressed. Are we aware that by our reactions, we also learn how to handle pressures and problems?

Therefore, as they grow into adulthood, they start practicing what they have learned from us. Reacting to issues as we do and relating to people as we do.

We need to be aware that we are their role models. And so, we’re demonstrating to them how to be patient and deal with pressures and problems by the way we react to their unpleasant behaviors, and also handle difficult situations.

They observe our reactions and take note of both our strengths and our weaknesses. As mothers, we set an example bu our behaviors.

Our persistent impatient actions have negative effects on our children’s growth.

1) Children who readily become agitated are more likely to be the product of impatient parents.

2) Children who act out a lot tend to have parents who react harshly when their kids test their patience and make mistakes.

3) Such children get angry easily.

4) They often don’t have lasting relationships

5) They give up on business, career, etc easily, especially when faced with challenges.

We will be discussing the effects of impatience on mothers in my next article.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
