Search and rescue teams are still looking for survivors after the shocking collapse of the beachside condo building in Miami last week Thursday.
The United States president; Joe Biden and the first lady would head to Surfside, Florida, on Thursday to visit the scene of the deadly building collapse where 11 people have been confirmed dead and 150 people remain missing.
With search and rescue teams still desperately searching for the 150 people still missing, the President has made it a point of duty to visit the Florida site of the devastating building collapse.
“Hopefully as early as Thursday,” Biden said in response to a question about whether he would visit the Surfside, Florida, site. Biden spoke as he was preparing to leave for Wisconsin, where he will pitch his infrastructure plan today. Soon afterward, the White House issued a statement saying Biden and first lady Jill Biden would head to Surfside on Thursday.
Jen Psaki; the White House press secretary; who spoke to reporters at Monday’s press briefing said that the president believes there should be a full investigation into what caused the deadly collapse.
