Nancy Isime, An Actress, Speaks Out In Response To Criticism Of Her New Movie

Nancy Isime, a well-known actress from Nigeria, has spoken out in response to demands that a contentious movie in which she starred be banned.

The actress recently posted pictures from the unreleased film, in which she was shown brandishing a rifle and donning a niqab.

Some women cover their entire body and face, save for their eyes, with a long cloth called a niqāb.

But the video set off a social media backlash, with some users taking offense at the actress for wearing Muslim clothing while showing a cinematic scenario of a robbery.

She wrote;

“Really out the way. In my own world. No drama, no gossip. Just goals and money. Peace is where I’m at,” she wrote in the photos.

“I don’t bother nobody & I’m not bothered by nobody. That’s my peace. To protect my peace, I stopped taking other people’s projected opinions personally.

“Reminder: Your light often highlights other people’s insecurities and shortcomings, which they will then project back to you as a flaw. It’s a coping mechanism. Attacking you makes them feel safer.

“Isime baby, omo ologo 5g. The brightest light. The city on a hill that can never be hidden. The Nancy Isime. Big name, big force.

“Getting talked about do not faze me. Look at people who are talking.”

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
