Riot Police Seen Outside The Stadium For The Match Between Spain & Morocco

In the midst of the chaos outside a World Cup stadium in Qatar, riot police mounted cops, and dogs were used.

As Morocco played Spain in the neighboring Education City Stadium, winning 3-0 on penalties after 120 minutes of scoreless play, security personnel were seen taking away at least three spectators.

Some Morocco supporters were arguing with security personnel about whether or not they could enter the stadium through the outer gate and go to the spectator entrances.

However, they were turned away when several people displayed their phones and what appeared to be their passports.

Security personnel once marched forward to push people back inside the stadium’s perimeter, but away from the spectator entrances.

A PA news agency reporter observed three people being bundled away by security personnel as police horses and other vehicles drew ahead.

Then, as police dogs could be seen, riot cops were ordered to put on their helmets and relocate to a new location.

The individuals outside, according to a security guard, “are not dispersing; they want to enter.”

The number of spectators inside and outside the stadium who had tickets was not immediately evident.

After 75 minutes of play, the security personnel allowed one fan to proceed to the spectator door, but two other supporters claimed they had “no ticket,” and others were requesting them. Later, a security officer instructed a PA reporter to cease filming and removed someone who had been recording with their phone.

After moving away from the perimeter gate, the atmosphere outside the stadium did quiet down, with groups of Moroccan fans and other spectators gathered around phones to watch the match.

While a few additional cops could be spotted monitoring the game by peering over the shoulders of fans, security personnel provided water to some Moroccan fans.

After the game ended 0-0 after extra time, there were raucous celebrations outside the stadium when Morocco defeated Spain 3-0 on penalties to earn a famous victory and a spot in the quarterfinals.

As they went, some were heard saying, “Bye, bye Espana.”

28-year-old Doha resident and Moroccan supporter Ayoub expressed his happiness following the victory.

He replied, looking ahead to the rounds, “Give me Portugal, no problem. Brazil will do, no problem. Morocco is powerful.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
