Wonder shall never end! When you think you have seen it all, hmmm…think again because this will shock you.  A multi-million naira supermarket got burnt last week and a nine-year-old girl has been identified as the culprit of the arson that reduced the Ebeano supermarket in Abuja to ashes. Surprised, right?

Ebeano supermarket in the Lokogoma area of Abuja was burnt to the ground on Saturday, July 17, 2021, with goods worth billions of Naira destroyed in the raging inferno. According to reports, the firemen battled for hours to get the inferno under control as it lasted until the next day.

In CCTV footage widely shared on social media afterward, an unidentified female could be seen lighting up the fire that destroyed the entire shopping complex, before sprinting away from the scene.

The nine-year-old minor was said to have joined her mum and sister in the shop. During the interrogation, she said,

“My mum took me to the shop. She wanted to buy xxx for my sister. We went to the market first before going to the shop. My mummy was with my sister at the drink session,” the little girl said during questioning by a team of investigators.

She still has on her the same clothes she wore to the shop on the day of the arson, as captured on CCTV.

As of the time of filing this report, it’s unclear if the questioning was carried out on the same day of the incident.

Here is an advice for every parent who has a child who’s always getting into one mischief or the other, don’t dare get your eyes off such a child especially in public. Now the whole family is in trouble!
