REFLECTION

No one can be the herald of the Messiah if not chosen by God. No one can be a voice for the Word Incarnate if not appointed by God himself. John the Baptist was baptized in the womb of his old barren mother by Christ’s presence in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary on her visitation. John was a lamp for the light of the world-Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Redeemer.

It was God who named him and gave him his mission before birth. He was a voice that brought healing and joy to his father and mother. He was a gracious child and a blessing for the house of Israel. He was chosen to be the prophet of the Lord to prepare the way for the Lord. He was a man of great humility and courage. He spoke the truth and died for the sake of Christ.

In today’s world, we are God’s ambassadors and our responsibilities is expected to be carried out with great humility and courage. This can be done when we keep the commandments of God. When we speak the truth and live out Christ’s love.

May we live out Christ’s mission with much love, courage and humility. May we continue to remain steadfast in our obedience and dedication to God’s commands. Amen.

Best wishes of the day!
Shalom
Fr. Joe, OSJ.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
