South Africa Relaxes Visa Rules For Nigerian Tourists And Business People

Cyril Ramaphosa, the president of South Africa, has said that travelers from Nigeria can now apply for a visa without presenting a passport.

President Bola Tinubu was present when Ramaphosa made the statement on Tuesday, December 3, at the commencement of the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) in Cape Town.

He clarified that in order to facilitate travel for Nigerian tourists and business travelers, South Africa had streamlined its visa procedures and implemented policies like five-year multiple-entry visas.

“Our efforts to create a favourable environment included simplifying the visa process for Nigerian business people travelling to South Africa. Qualifying Nigerian business people were granted a five-year multiple-entry visa,” he said.

Additionally, the President underlined South Africa’s commitment to tackling the difficulties faced by businesses in both countries and removing obstacles to increased investment.

“As we marked 30 years of diplomatic relations, we saw a bright future for our relationship. Our strong bonds of friendship provided a solid foundation for more meaningful economic cooperation,” Ramaphosa said.
