Super Falcons Drops On FIFA Rating After Women’s AFCON

The Super Falcons of Nigeria, nine-time African champions, fell seven spots in the most recent women’s rankings announced by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) on Friday.

The team led by Randy Waldrum was ranked 39th in June but is now in 46th place.

However, the Super Falcons continued to lead the competition in Africa.

The poor performance at the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, which was hosted by Morocco, may have been linked with the team’s drop in the rankings.

In their six games in the competition, the West Africans had three victories and three defeats.

The Super Falcons are one of the four African teams that will participate in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which Australia and New Zealand will co-host.

The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon fell to third place on the continent, with South Africa rising to the second spot.

Fourth and fifth in the continent are Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana.
