Suspected Victim Of Rituals Found Dead, Eyes Plucked Out By Attackers

Oluyemi Tunmise, a 65-year-old woman, was killed in Ilesa, Osun State, by men who are suspected to be ritualists.

On Monday, August 1, 2022, around 1:00 pm, the victim’s body was discovered on her farm in the Fadahunsi neighbourhood of Ilesa.

The woman’s eyes were plucked out by the attackers, according to Osun Police Command spokesperson Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the event in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the statement, “Dare Oluyemi of Odundun area reported that his mother, one Oluyemi Tunmise, aged about 65 years, who family members have been searching for since Saturday, 30/07/22, was found dead on her farm at Fadahunsi area Ilesa at about 1130 hours with one of her eyes plucked out by yet to be identified assailants.”

The statement went on to say that the complainant and the other deceased’s children had refused to allow the police to move their mother’s body to the mortuary.

The PPRO stated that the deceased’s children wanted to bury their mother and threatened violence if the police insisted on moving the body to a mortuary.
