Troops Rescue Another Chibok Girl — With Two Children

Toops of the 26 task force brigade in Gwoza, Borno state, have rescued Hassana Adamu, one of the Chibok girls captured by Boko Haram in 2014.

D.R. Dantani, commander of the 26 task force, handed over Hassana and her two children to Babagana Zulum, Borno state governor, on Saturday.

On April 14, 2014, over 200 schoolgirls were abducted when Boko Haram attacked Government Girls’ Secondary School (GGSS) in Chibok.

At least 103 girls have so far been rescued in the last seven years.

The development comes a week after Zulum received Ruth Nglari Apagu, another of the Chibok schoolgirls, and reunited her with her parents.

Ruth was married to a Boko Haram fighter and returned with two children she had while in captivity.

She and her husband had surrendered to Nigerian troops on July 28 at a location in Bama.

In January, Hauwa Halim Maiyanga, one of the abducted schoolgirls, was also rescued.

The abduction of the girls in 2014 was followed by a global outcry that birthed the #BringBackOurGirls movement.

Meanwhile, the federal government says it has continued with its efforts to rescue the remaining girls.

We are glad she is free and we hope and pray that the remaining girls return back soon.
