Tuesday of week 11 in Ordinary Time

2 Corinthians 8:1-9
Psalm 145(146):2,5-9
Matthew 5:43-48

Always aim to give your absolute BEST! Embrace the journey of improvement because there’s always MORE room for growth!

So how can we, imperfect beings, even dream of achieving perfection? St. Paul provides an inspiring answer in today’s first reading. Think of Jesus: He was rich but chose to embrace poverty for our sake, so we could become rich through His sacrifice. 2 Corinthians 8:9.

This incredible act illustrates the boundless love of God the Father, who sent His only Son so that we could have eternal life through Him. His wounds heal our hearts, and His death and Resurrection bring us salvation.

For many of us, happiness seems tied to the pursuit of worldly pleasures and luxuries. Yet, the true path lies in holiness—Jesus Christ IS the WAY. This means loving selflessly and laying down our lives for others.

At the close of today’s gospel, Jesus challenges us: “Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect” (Matthew 5:48).We are made perfect through the ultimate act of love—Christ’s sacrifice for us! Now we, too, can offer ourselves to others, lifting them from despair to hope. Essentially, the perfect person radiates goodness through love (Clement of Alexandria).

Let’s pour our hearts into our actions, making them perfect through selfless, unconditional love that never fades! Remember, improving means embracing change, and striving for perfection requires frequent transformation (Winston Churchill).

So, let’s commit to giving our best in everything we do! May the Lord see us through. Amen!
