Ukraine May Not Survive Against Russia Even If US Aid Continues – Trump

In a recent interview, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has hinted that Ukraine’s efforts to repel Russia’s invasion across land, air, and sea might not succeed, even with continued backing from the US.

During a conversation on Fox News channel’s ‘Sunday Morning Futures’, Trump addressed questions regarding his contentious choice to temporarily halt assistance to Kyiv as it battles Russia’s all-out assault.

Following a tumultuous encounter with Zelenskyy at the White House last week, Trump faced inquiries about Polish President Andrzej Duda’s caution “that without American support, Ukraine will not survive”.

When questioned if he felt “comfortable” with that possibility, the US leader responded: “Well, it may not survive anyway.

“But we have some weaknesses with Russia. You know, it takes two,” Mr Trump elaborated.

This statement emerges as Zelenskyy prepares to travel to Saudi Arabia for a Monday discussion with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, while Ukrainian diplomatic and military officials are scheduled to confer with a US delegation on Tuesday.

Trump’s most recent comments arise amid widespread international unease about the deteriorating ties between Ukraine and the US, which, together with the EU, has been Kyiv’s primary supporter in its defense against Russia’s three-year campaign across land, air, and sea.

The US suspended military assistance and intelligence cooperation with Ukraine earlier this month after a heated exchange between Mr Trump and Mr Zelenskyy on 28 February unfolded publicly before global media.

Trump initiated the suspension as part of an effort to compel Mr Zelenskyy to pursue ceasefire negotiations with Russia.

Sources indicate that Trump has privately conveyed to his advisors that a formalized minerals agreement between Washington and Kyiv will not suffice to resume aid and intelligence collaboration with Ukraine.

The 78-year-old president apparently seeks not only the completion of the deal but also a shift in Zelenskyy’s stance toward engaging in peace discussions.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
