Bandits Abduct Respected Islamic Cleric And Several Girls in Katsina

Armed bandits have kidnapped a prominent Islamic cleric, Sheikh Mustapha Aliyu Unguwar Mai Kawo, along with multiple girls in Katsina State.

The cleric was taken from Gidan Kaji in Kankara Local Government Area of the state on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

In the Sukuntuni community of Kankia Local Government Area, bandits murdered one individual, stole numerous cows, and abducted several girls.

Security expert Bakatsine, who verified the incidents, stated that on Sunday night, April 13, bandits also raided the Tamarke community in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State, abducting one resident, just a day following the kidnapping of a well-known Islamic cleric.

Per the analyst, the assailants attacked the Tamarke community under the shroud of night, shooting indiscriminately before spiriting away a local resident to an undisclosed location.

“Yesterday night, bandits invaded the Tamarke community in Bakori LGA, Katsina State and abducted one person. Just less than 24hrs after the abduction of Sheikh Mustapha Aliyu Unguwar Mai-Kawo in Ƙankara LGA,” Bakatsine wrote on Monday.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
