Victor Osimhen Gifts Remo Stars N10m Cash For NPFL Title Win

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has presented newly crowned Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Remo Stars with a N10 million cash prize for their outstanding 2024/25 title triumph.

Osimhen, currently playing on loan at Galatasaray, reportedly donated a total of N10m, allocating N5m to the players and N5m to the technical staff, following a personal video call to the team.

Head coach Daniel Ogunmodede verified the contribution in an interview with Punch Sports Extra.

The generous act comes in the wake of Remo Stars’ historic achievement of securing their inaugural NPFL title with a hard-earned 1-0 win against Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.

Remo Stars clinched their first-ever NPFL championship with three games remaining, amassing an unbeatable 68 points, 10 points clear of second-placed Rivers United.

Olamilekan Adedayo scored the crucial goal in the 84th minute of their title-winning match in Ikenne.

Remo Stars became the first privately-owned club to claim the NPFL title since Julius Berger’s victory in 2000 and the first team from Southwest Nigeria to hoist the trophy in 25 years.
