Real Madrid ‘Agree Terms’ With Carlo Ancelotti Over His Departure

Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid have reportedly finalized the conditions for his departure.

The Italian’s tenure at the club is nearing its conclusion, with Xabi Alonso long considered a likely candidate to replace him.

He was previously linked with the open Brazil national team position but has reportedly declined the opportunity to guide them into the 2026 World Cup.

According to recent reports from The Athletic, an agreement has been reached that will see the 65-year-old depart the Santiago Bernabéu at the season’s end, possibly as early as after Sunday’s El Clásico match against Barcelona.

Per the report, “Conversations have been ongoing with Madrid over the details of his exit, which was largely dependent on reaching an agreement over his salary for the remaining year of his contract.”

Real Madrid will now focus on identifying a suitable successor in the aftermath, with The Athletic naming Xabi Alonso, Raul Gonzalez, and Alvaro Arbeloa as potential candidates.
Madrid will still need to compensate.

Ancelotti for the next year, as his contract runs until 2026, which has contributed to the prolonged negotiations.

Ancelotti is said to be weighing a lucrative offer to manage in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi deal would reportedly see Ancelotti earn €50m net (£42m), an amount that could prove challenging for him to reject.

Ancelotti, 65, has faced scrutiny this season despite being one of the most decorated managers in history and delivering tremendous success to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Across two spells managing the Spanish giants, he has secured 15 trophies, including three Champions League titles and two La Liga titles.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
