Toyin Abraham’s ‘Iyalode’ Surpasses N100 Million In Box Office In Just Four Days

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham is rejoicing over a significant box office victory after her most recent film, Iyalode, made an astounding N103.7 million four days after its premiere countrywide.

With its pre-colonial Yoruba roots, Iyalode is a historical epic that debuted on June 4 and went on sale on June 6.

The actress and producer shared the exciting news on Instagram, posting a celebratory graphic that read: “No. 1 Film in Cinemas. N103.7m in 4 days.” In her caption, she thanked fans for their overwhelming support, writing, “Thank you everyone 🥹🙏🥹🥹 IYALODE still showing in all cinemas in Nigeria💪💪.”

The film is directed by Adebayo Tijani and co-produced by Abraham and her husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi. As a strong female leader negotiating the difficulties of authority, legacy, and treachery, Toyin assumes the title position.

In a cultural context that is intricately portrayed, the story moves between themes of tradition, resistance and human leadership.

The star-studded cast includes Kehinde Bankole, Bukky Wright, Muyiwa Ademola, Wale Ojo, Ibrahim Chatta, Peju Ogunmola, Aisha Lawal, and Kolawole Ajeyemi.

Well deserved! World best for a reason. Big congratulations to the cast and crew .
