Trump Threatens Putin With A 50-day Ultimatum On Ukraine Peace Deal

US President Donald Trump has declared that the United States will impose 100 percent tariffs on Russia if President Vladimir Putin fails to agree to a peace deal with Ukraine within 50 days.

While meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in the Oval Office, the president harshly criticized Putin, his frustration with the Russian leader intensifying due to Russia’s escalating attacks on Ukraine.

“We are very, very unhappy with [Russia], and we’re going to be doing very severe tariffs if we don’t have a deal in 50 days, tariffs at about 100 percent,” he said in the Oval Office.

“I’m disappointed in President Putin. I thought we would’ve had a deal two months ago,” he continued, referencing the proposed peace agreement.

Trump also negotiated an agreement with NATO to supply Ukraine with advanced weaponry, including Patriot missiles, while emphasizing that the U.S. will not bear the financial burden after years of being taken advantage of.

“We’ve made a deal today where we are going to be sending [Ukraine] weapons and [Europe] is going to be paying for them,” he stated.

“We – the United States – will not be having any payment made. We’re not buying it, but we will manufacture it, and they’re going to be paying for it.”

Trump further noted that the U.S. produces the “best equipment, the best missiles,” and that European nations “know that.”

“We make the best and we’re going to be sending the best to NATO,” he continued.

The president announced that at least 17 Patriot missiles are prepared for shipment to Ukraine.

“We will send them Patriots, which they desperately need, because [Russian President Vladimir] Putin really surprised a lot of people. He talks nice and then bombs everybody in the evening,” Trump said, delivering another sharp criticism of Putin.

“We basically are going to send them various pieces of very sophisticated military equipment. They are going to pay us 100 percent for that, and that’s the way we want it,” Trump said.

Reports also indicate he plans to provide offensive weaponry, following criticism from many of his allies regarding the Biden administration’s rapid distribution of weapons after Russia’s 2022 invasion.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
