NNPC/Heirs Energies Unveils University Scholarship for Host Communities

The NNPC/Heirs Energies Joint Venture has launched the OML 17 University Scholarship Programme (USP) for 300 qualified first-year students from OML 17 host communities. The scholarship provides financial and educational support to students enrolled in government-owned universities across Nigeria.

Key Highlights:

  • Eligibility: Students from OML 17 host communities currently enrolled in government-owned universities.
  • Benefits: ₦200,000 annual award till graduation.
  • Application Process: Online application through the official scholarship portal ((link unavailable)) starting July 21, 2025.
  • Selection: Final selection and announcement of beneficiaries in September 2025.

Participating Communities:
The scholarship is open to students from 73 communities across Etche, Ikwerre, Obio-Akpor, and Oyibo. Some of the participating communities include ¹ ²:

  • Etche: Umuokwa, Umuebullu, Ikwerrengwo, Chokota
  • Ikwerre: Ikwerre, Omuchi, Agboga
  • Obio-Akpor: Ogbogoro, Oroazi, Ozuoba
  • Oyibo: Oyibo Urban, Umusia, Iriebe
