Saudi €15m Offer Too Tempting To Refuse – Victor Boniface

Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface, has confessed that he was unable to reject a highly attractive offer to join Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr in January.

Boniface was on the verge of finalizing a transfer to Al Nassr during the winter transfer period, but the Big Yellow ultimately chose to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa instead.

Al Nassr proposed paying the striker an astonishing €15m annually, a significant increase from the €2m he currently earns at Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

“I have been injured so many times, if I go and play two, three seasons…the money was a lot,” Boniface revealed on the podcast The Culture League.

“I agreed to the offer because there was also the club, who were offered 70 million Euros, and they wanted the money.

“In football, it was not just about me, but also the club.

“I was ready to go, I packed my bags, gave away my designer clothes and shoes to friends, the plane was waiting.

“But at the last minute it didn’t work out.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
