Jigawa State Government Pays N1.5 Billion to 569 Retirees

The Jigawa State and Local Government Contributory Pension Board has disbursed over N1.5 billion to 569 retirees, comprising N1,505,449,327.78 in retirement benefits, death benefits, and death pension balances. This payment aims to provide comprehensive support to the retirees who served in various capacities.

Breakdown of Payment

  • State Service: 287 retirees received N875,625,045
  • Local Government: 158 retirees received N355,025,795.72
  • Local Education Authorities (LEAs): 124 retirees received N274,798,487.06

Governor’s Commitment
Governor Umar Namadi’s administration has prioritized the welfare of pensioners and workers, releasing over N5.4 billion as a bailout to settle outstanding gratuities. The state head of the civil service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, praised the governor’s efforts, stating that Jigawa’s pension model is one of the best in the country.

Impact on Retirees

This payment brings relief to the retirees, ensuring they can enjoy a secure and fulfilling life after their years of service. The executive secretary of the pension board, Dr. Binyaminu Shitu Aminu, reaffirmed the board’s commitment to the timely disbursement of entitlements, including monthly pension payments.
