Sultana, a housemate of Big Brother Naija, has explained her decision to follow Islam rather than Christianity.
Sultana stated she was exposed to both religions growing up because she was born to a Christian mother from Yala, Cross River State, and a Muslim father from Adamawa State.
She was originally baptized as a Catholic under the name Josephine, but she chose to convert to Islam since it “works best” for her, she told her fellow residents.
Zita: “Are your parents strict Muslims?”
Sultana: “No, I grew up going to both church and mosque. My mom is a Christian. At some points, I got baptized in Catholic, my baptismal name is Josephine. I just decided to choose the religion that works best for me, which is Islam.”
