Abia State has been chosen as the host for the 2025 South-East Zonal Summit of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), a development warmly welcomed by the Executive Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.

The governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Kenneth Kalu, received the leadership of NIM in his conference room, acknowledging the institute’s vital role in fostering national development. He reaffirmed that the objectives of his administration align with NIM’s commitment to efficient, service-driven leadership in both public and private sectors.

Governor Otti noted that his government has made remarkable strides since assuming office, including the clearance of long-standing arrears of salaries and pensions owed to workers and retirees. He assured the institute of sustained collaboration, encouraging it to intensify efforts in instilling sound leadership values and professionalism among Abians.

The President and Chairman of the Council of NIM, Commodore Abimbola Ayuba (Rtd), described his visit to the SSG as part of the official activities to launch the 2025 zonal summit in Abia. He commended the state government for the notable infrastructural improvements across the state and expressed NIM’s readiness to partner with the Otti-led administration in driving sustainable development. He also extended his best wishes for the continued success of the governor’s policies, reforms, and transformative projects.
