Comedian Ali Baba Faces Eviction From Victoria Island Residence

According to reports, veteran Nigerian comedian Ali Baba has been forced to leave his Lagos mansion on Victoria Island.

He and his business, XQZMOI TV, were evicted, according to DailyPost.

After he was served with an order of possession signed by the Federal High Court on August 15, 2025, the eviction became effective.

Through the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria, or AMCON, the federal government sold the land to Ali Baba in 2021 for N220 million.

According to AMCON, the property was liquidated to recoup the money Harold Expansion Industries Nigeria Limited was purportedly due.

In his decision on July 31, 2025, Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa dismissed AMCON’s case, stating that the company had not produced proof of the purported debt.

In addition to ordering the property’s return to its rightful owner, the court fined AMCON N500 million in damages.

The timing of the comedian’s purchase of the property resulted in his responsibility in the case.

The property was purportedly purchased by Ali Baba while the lawsuit was still pending, despite an existing preservation order.

Ali Baba was a renter of the property’s original owner prior to their eviction by AMCON.
