Woman With Dementia Beats Fellow Nursing Home Resident To De@th

A 95-year-old woman with dementia fatally attacked a fellow resident at a Brooklyn nursing home using a metal wheelchair part during a dispute on Sunday, September 14, according to police and sources.

The elderly woman allegedly hit the 89-year-old victim multiple times on the head when an argument broke out just after 10 p.m. at the Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on West 29th Street near Surf Avenue, law enforcement sources reported.

The victim, discovered in bed with a severe head injury, was transported to NYU Brooklyn Hospital, where she was initially reported in critical condition, according to police and sources.

She passed away from her injuries several hours later, early Monday, police confirmed.

The older woman was taken to Coney Island Hospital for a physical and psychiatric evaluation, sources noted.

At this time, she faces no charges due to her age and dementia condition, sources indicated.

Neither woman was immediately identified by authorities.

Meanwhile, the wheelchair allegedly used by the older woman in the violent assault was seen on the pavement outside the facility, cordoned off by blue crime scene tape on Monday afternoon.

A 77-year-old woman, who was leaving after visiting her sister at the nursing home, told The Post she was stunned to learn about the incident.

“I’m a nervous wreck for my sister,” said the woman, who identified herself only as Elaine. “That could’ve been my sister.”

“Her poor family,” she added of the victim.
