Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has disclosed that, at the age of 17, she personally exposed her teenage daughter Simisola to alcohol and nightlife.
The actress revealed this information and gave her justifications for doing so in an interview with content producer Mr. Lilgaga.
Bakare claims that she purposefully brought her daughter to a nightclub so that she, not strangers, would be associated with her first nightlife experience.
“I took my daughter to the club when she turned 17, and I’m glad that in her memoir she will mention me as the one who first introduced her to alcohol and clubbing,” she said
She added that her decision was deliberate, emphasizing that she would rather be the one to introduce Simisola to these kinds of events than let her learn about them from uninformed outsiders.
I personally feel it is not appropriate for a mother to introduce a 17 year old to drinking and nightlife. This might expose her to risky behaviors
