Two Arrested For Stealing 600 Litres Of Diesel At Telecom Mast In Bauchi

The Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has taken into custody two individuals suspected of unlawfully taking away 600 litres of diesel that was meant to fuel an MTN telecommunications mast located at Sabon Kasuwa-Railway within the Bauchi Local Government Area in the state.

ASC. Saminu Yusuf, who serves as the spokesperson for the command, revealed this information through a statement issued on Saturday, November 15, 2025, and he mentioned that the two suspects, named Abdulrahman Jibrin and Munarak Halilu, admitted to repeatedly stealing diesel from that particular location over the course of the previous one year.

“On 12th November 2025, at Sabon Kasuwa Railway Bauchi LGA of Bauchi State, NSCDC officers on surveillance patrol apprehended Abdulrahman Jibrin ‘M’ 20yrs and Munarak Halilu ‘M’ 31yrs for stealing litres of AGO that were used to power the generator of MTN band mast located around the scene,” the statement read.

“During the preliminary investigation both suspects confessed to having been stealing the diesel from the same place for the past one year, the suspects will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.

“Commandant oloyede Nelson Oyerinde while addressing the gentlemen of the press, commends his personnel for their commitment to safeguarding public infrastructures.

“He reiterated that the corps resolved to get rid of crimes and vandalism and also warned perpetrators to desist from such acts or face legal consequences.”
