Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The former governor reportedly obtained his membership card at the party office in U/Sarki Ward, Kaduna State, after registering with the ADC.
The former Federal Capital Territory Minister was accompanied by his devoted followers, which included chairmen of local governments and former appointees.
Remember that earlier this year, El-Rufai, a founding member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), defected to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The former governor indicated in his resignation letter from the SDP, dated November 26, 2025, that his goal is to support the development of a cohesive democratic platform that can provide the public with a viable political option.
“I wish to notify that I have resigned my membership of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, effective 26 November, 2025,” he said
